Spiced Tea

4 cups water
2/3 cup soy milk
3 orange pekoe tea bags
3 tablespoons sugar
12 to 14 black peppercorns
16 to 18 whole cloves
6 cardamom pods
1 to 2 cinnamon sticks

Crush spices with mortar and pestle. Put spices in a sauce pan, then add water and soy milk. Bring to a boil. Cover and let stand 10 minutes. Then add tea and sugar, letting stand for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove tea bags, strain and serve. If you want extra spice, you can bring it to a boil again. Also reheats well. Serves 4.
